New AC Installation: The SEER Measurement

New AC Installation: The SEER Measurement

Super Cure Pvt. Ltd

When you’re in the market for a new AC installation, you should always work with qualified heating and air conditioning technicians who know what they’re doing. The right technicians are able to select a system that is the right size for your home, ensuring proper performance and continued efficiency throughout the system’s lifespan (with proper maintenance).

But you may want to read up on system efficiency before you make the choice. You can know more about an air conditioner’s efficiency rating by looking at the SEER and comparing it to the efficiency rating of other comparable systems. And super cure pvt. Ltd has a good option for AC Installation

What is SEER?

SEER stands for “seasonal energy efficiency ratio.” The way the SEER is determined is somewhat complicated. But the final measurement averages out the amount of energy your system uses in different environments with different humidity levels and temperatures during the cooling season.

What’s the difference between EER and SEER?

You might notice a second number when you are shopping around for air conditioners and heat pumps. The EER (energy efficiency ratio) is a much simpler measurement of efficiency. Lab testing tests the AC performance in 95° temperatures only.

So why isn’t this the indicator you should look at when checking for energy efficiency? Are temperatures always 95° where you live? Are humidity levels always just average? Of course not! SEER is a far more reliable tool.

What SEER is best?

Of course, the higher the SEER rating, the more expensive a system will be. The technology used to cool your home with minimal energy usage is costly to develop. But the energy savings should one day make up for this cost.

The minimum SEER for air conditioners in our area is 14. Check for one higher than this, though, for maximum savings. Look for a SEER of 16 or greater to get the most out of your investment. But make sure a technician helps you to pick this out. Sizing and proper installation are just as important—if not more so—to efficiency ratings!
